Thank you @georgierose.bsky.social and the fab team of dedicated Trustees for your support.
One of the most impactful conservation charities you've never heard of. Their handprints are all over huge UK nature successes such as otter recovery, pine marten reintroduction to England and Wales, and recovery of rare bat species. I'm so proud to be a trustee for this brilliant organisation.

Nathusius' Pipistrelle becomes #mammal species 2️⃣6️⃣ for Red Moss of Netherly, NE Scotland.

Recorded on @openacousticdevices.info #Audiomoth during September's influx. Just a handful of detections, but this quasi-constant frequency burst looks convincing.

Looks like climate has turned up for the climate talks..
Torrential rainfall in the Brazilian city of Belem flooded pavements outside the venue for the #COP30 climate talks. Scientists say climate change is making extreme weather events more common.

How can beavers influence bat behaviour?

Two new studies across England and Wales reveal an astonishing increase in bat activity in beaver wetlands – thanks to how beavers shape habitats for both bats and their insect prey.

Astonishing video, worth watching in full.
While agreeing in the round,
I've found this (below) both reassuring and highlighting of the need for constant vigilance. There is no perfect end state. See if you can see where the 'thousand year reich' occurs (also, that Roman Empire lasted quite a while).

"Tag, you're it!” To help better understand the migratory patterns of forest-dwelling bats, the BCI Team took to the California Redwoods to track hoary and silver-haired bats. Knowing the movements of these species will help us better understand the threats they face. Fly safe, friends!

Every single day, the BBC’s coverage of Palestine is systematically racist - against Palestinians. Every day, at present, what is happening to the bodies of a few dead Israelis is considered newsworthy while the actual ongoing killing (and torture, and ethnic cleansing) of many Palestinians is not.
