The important thing is not to be “exploited,” except by yourself. (Harsh.)
my career path was that my mom told me to go into software so I could make money, and I burned out, so I became a writer, and then I burned out, and then both careers collapsed, and now I basically feel like a surplus person the economy has no use for

Now I'm curious about what was in the deleted post.
I've deleted my post about how I talk about my book Vs how my publishers talk about it because

a) people thought that was a genuine blurb, FFS

b) people told me to stop whining about having a publisher

c) people told me to get better at promo

I have no idea why my post got people so mad

‘Just disengage’ just might work.
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

On this day in 1914 Edith Penrose was born. We didn't know much about her when @dianecoyle1859.bsky.social recommended her but she had an amazing life & her RBV insight explains why many companies have got into trouble by losing sight of their core focus. #EconSky podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/s...

Launched in 1977, Voyager 1 has been travelling thru space for nearly 5 decades! It has passed the outer planets of our solar system, crossed the heliopause (look it up!) and is now travelling through interstellar space. On 13Nov2026, it will have travelled 1 light-day from Earth! #science #space

Solar’s price drop is astonishing: panels are now 98% cheaper than when I first analyzed them in 2004.

Today, building a fence with solar can be cheaper than using wood.

I think my bigger concerns are:
- what if China just dumps AI for free (crash)
- what if instead they DO monetize it, and we've just laid all these people off but it becomes unaffordable for companies to pay for the AI usage to do what people used to do, but those human processes no longer exist.
