Rachel Reeves is right that the world has changed - so why won’t she change her strategy to reflect it? Rigid adherence to arbitrary fiscal rules & refusing wealth taxes is a political choice that’s causing huge pain & harm, as well as laying out the welcome mat for the populists at Reform UK

Well capping the cost makes financial sense. They are private organisations only there to make profit, they aren’t the NHS.
Of course Streeting could instead increase beds and pay doctors and nurses in NHS more and bring the work back into NHS and Rejoin EU and bring in the workers we lost.

The reason I bang on about the NHS is that I have worked in it for 40 years

Over half it’s existence

I remember a time, not that long ago when the majority of things worked well

Something happened in 2010 that changed that

I am fighting for a collective memory & fight for a better future

A reminder that NHS England was created in 2012 by David Cameron as a tool to help get Private Healthcare control over the NHS.

It was never necessary in any way.

Experts told Sky News that a lack of core funding for GP practices means there is not enough money to recruit - at a time when demand for appointments has reached an all-time high.

Unregulated expansion of a role without safeguards in place
Hopefully the Leng Review will make this clear
2015 there were only 15 PAs in GP & 107 in hospitals

Drs are they needed?
5-6yrs just to become one, then another 5-10yrs to specialise, why bother?
PAs 2yrs minimal training to work in any specialty
