Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

Every once in a while I get to write something that simply feeds my spirit; today is one of those days.

Have a read of my latest, “Hardwood Hostiles: Art and Culture of Rez Ball” featured in The Game, as edited by the amazing Kevin Powell. 🏀 thegame.visibility.art/p/issue-five...

Psychologists, apply! Apparently we've mainly gotten CS applicants so far. I'd (selfishly) love to have a psychologist. Interests in AI in relation to e.g., implicit bias; cultural influences; fairness; perception; learning & memory; decision making etc. would be a good fit!

While I’m thinking of it; I’m graduate faculty with the University of Alabama in case there are other Native grad students out there looking for support/mentoring. 😉 There needs to be more of us, there’s so much work to do. I see you.

Submitting a manuscript for review is such an interesting process. Initial feeling of fulfilment and satisfaction only to be followed by anxious anticipation about what's to come.

Apparently, when I was a kiddo my mom was reading this book to me in church, quietly.

I, however, decided it was important to yell, "YOU TURNED THE PAGE" when we got to this page in the book.

My mom was mortified, but honestly, it should've prepared her for what was to come :)

I had a wonderful time speaking at the 2025 9-Man Coaches Clinic sponsored by the NDHSCA.

100% of attendees found this session valuable!

We need to engage interest holders at all levels to make impactful change, and that's one of my favorite parts about doing work in sport systems!
