"But everyone knows what I mean when I say "bike"!

While that may be true, when we talk about 'bikes' it's easy for many people to forget about those who need to use non-standard cycles such as trikes, recumbents and tandems.

I really enjoyed participating in the Cycling & Society symposium at @glasgowcaledonian.bsky.social this week. I managed to get a photo of @ficrawford.bsky.social presenting our paper looking at how different impairments affect people’s participation in cycling.

I enjoyed this opinion piece. Sadly, I think the argument applies across a lot of transport research. I find it quite depressing sometimes.

There is something deeply absurd about the modern pedestrian crossing. You press the beg-button and then you wait. And wait. And wait.

Interminable wait times reveal a deeper pathology. The pedestrian is, at best, an afterthought - at worst, an obstruction.

Several new people and orgs added to this starter pack since I first shared, so worth rechecking if you saw it previously.

Also, 📢 @gregmarsden-leeds.bsky.social and @jilliananable.bsky.social have now joined the party! 🎉
I've finally discovered Bluesky! I've found some great starter packs for transport, but most are North America focused. Thought I'd set up a UK focused one.

Let me know who else I can add!
