Of course scrooge (and not his drone) gets the noose in nuremberg, given that the allies still win in your scenario
*Your argument is not how it works. Scrooge sends his drone to blow up the power plant, Tiny Tim freezes to death. Who "intended" to kill Tiny Tim? Tim is Malthusian excess-population. The differently-abled are collateral damage

*In the dock at Nuremberg, Scrooge is acquitted. He even has fans
Though none of this happens without human agency and intension

This is the thing! People tend to act as if LLMs could develop real intrinsic motivation instead of just simulating it
You're equivocating between the categories of "harmful & damaging" and "cruel"; the second requires intention. And in all the cases you suggest, the tools are being directed by humans, who can indeed be cruel.

Though none of this happens without human agency and intension
*I think you need to contemplate self-piloting kamikaze drone aircraft blowing up enemy fossil-fuel plants in Ukraine and Russia #existenceoproof

*Malware that robs you is "cruel," and LLMs can write and deploy malware with no problems

*A hunter-killer chatbot that prompt-injects chatbots
I think this misses all available points. Cruelty is an inherently human category. LLM chatbots telling each other mean things is maybe even less significant than two teslas self-driving into each other

*That's quite an interesting moral question, and an even deeper one is what's supposed to happen morally when LLM models are cruel to each other
How can we do this? Bring these entities — these patterns — these standing waves — how can we create them and then just let them disperse into the universe as noise and hot water?

1. Some good news at last. This week’s column is about the amazing thing a couple of us stumbled into three years ago, which we’ve now developed into a global research programme. It doesn’t change everything, of course, but it could help change quite a lot. + 🧵 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

What do you do when you’re a gun-loving leftist who doesn’t fit into mainstream American gun culture?

That's a question @manishakrishnan.bsky.social set out to answer this summer when she attended a Brutality match, an inclusive firearms competition in Idaho.
The Hard-Left Shooters Leading a Gun Culture Revolution
Earlier this year, I attended a shooting competition for queer, often trans, very online misfits. Then Charlie Kirk was killed.
