✅ 2025: Victories for disease control! The world scored major victories for disease control and elimination.

🥳 Maldives became the first country to achieve “triple elimination” of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B.

🥳 Burundi, Egypt and Fiji eliminated trachoma.

Things I dislike:
1. NIH grant reviewers who post major factually false critiques on mentees applications.
2. A distant second is reviewers who cannot compose a grammatically correct sentence. If one does not know how and when to use a comma, one's scientific prowess might be suspect.

Why are CLSI breakpoints for Candida so low? 8 mcg/mL is considered "resistant" in Candida yet this is the MIC50 for Cryptococcus species where we just use higher dose fluconazole 800-1200mg/day.

Is the problem that the FDA package insert says the Candida dose is 100 mg or 200mg once daily?

Should one be flattered when a published manuscript that is clearly AI written hallucinates and creates citations by you that you never wrote? Paper is not very good, omitting from the abstract use of a bad CrAg test which has poor performance.

What should one do? Contact editor? Or author?
