I am exasperated to learn from a close friend of my daughter’s that after completing her F1 and F2 medical foundation training, there is a paucity of jobs. How can this be true given ongoing issues in the NHS?

Hi! Tosca would like to ask you to vote for One Garden Against the World in the People’s Book Prize. This will help get a book about biodiversity and climate more attention and could (?!) lead to more gardens for wildlife. We’ve got to dream, right? Thank you!!

In health & social care services today ‘stuckness’ is created through strategically managing change due to a fixation on KPIs. We need more strategic leadership of change via inclusive appraisal of the needs of communities, available resources, plus past learning to actively inspire & involve staff.

It's not 'just' community nurses. #OccupationalTherapists, #Physiotherapists #SaLTs, #Podiatrists #Dieticians optimise function, health & well-being in environments where people WANT to be, supporting #UnpaidCarers. #RehabilitationMatters, #pwLTCs matter.
Also applies to #MentalHealth services.
Discharging a patient from hospital shouldn’t be complicated

However increasing cuts in community funding, social care & community staff has created delays
42% fewer district nurses
14% fewer community beds

NI employers & staff costs for the community sector has made this worse

This cold snap presents problems & challenges for so many. I appreciate how fortunate I am not to be forced to go out, or live in it.
I marvel at the variety of our weather & the beauty sometimes we see.
It also reminds me that the ways we choose to think about things matters too!
