Thank you so much to everyone I chatted with on #JoinIn yesterday. Though it appears that the feed for it was overwhelmed in the evening and stopped updating for many hours (I’m not the only one to notice this). What happened there @bsky.app ?

So the cats are in the lead on our walkies on Christmas Day. A thread from our walk #JoinIn

Right, I'm off to go walkies across the fields with my cats (who are being impatient about waiting to go). I will take some photos along the way. Back in a bit. #JoinIn

No sign (or sound) of my neighbour playing his bagpipes outside today, though the day is still young. Though apparently all us neighbours are to attend a concert of him and 2 friends playing bagpipes in the nearby ruined abbey on New Year's Eve. That will actually be fun! #JoinIn #bagpipes

Oh my! Put up a #JoinIn post first thing this morning, and then went right back to sleep again for a few hours. And I regret nothing! What a luxury to have such a lie-in.
How about you? Up early with the dawn, or having a relax?

Also a big thank you to the people who are essential volunteers working tonight and over Christmas - including helpline volunteers, community first responders, and all those of you who are carers for a loved one. You are amazing.

Big thank you to all the essential workers out there who are working tonight and over Christmas - nurses, doctors, hospital staff, paramedics, firefighters, police, prison staff. Care workers making home visits.
Bless you.

You will find the 4th cat in the middle of the night, sitting on your chest waking you up with its laser-beam stare.

Have lost a cat somewhere so only sandwiched in by 3 cats on a single bed! The Mother has fallen asleep in my comfy bed and I can hear her snoring through 2 closed doors 🙉

The pumpkin summoning charm is making a challenge for the lead in #DuvetKnowItsChristmas
#JoinIn
This year we’ve been upgraded to “The Annexe of Estrangement”.

Apart from a model shark on the bed and an excess of gym equipment, all is looking good.

But what the hell is going on with the pumpkin summoning charm on the other side of the room? And who needs 5 freezers?

This is the 15th year of #DuvetKnowItsChristmas, which is preposterous. Rules: if you find yourself dealing with unusual / claustrophobic / gaudy sleeping arrangements this Christmas Eve, share a picture with the world. Use the hashtag (with capitalisation) and cc me if you can be bothered.

Unbelievably, #DuvetKnowItsChristmas generates such good will on social media that over the years we've raised somewhere approaching a quarter of a million quid for homeless charities. If you can spare a bob or two, sling some to Centrepoint, and here's the link: www.gofundme.com/f/duvet-know...

We have an early leader in #DuvetKnowItsChristmas
I’m entering The Teenager as potential winner of #Duvetknowitschristmas

He’s had to move from his bedroom to the unconverted attic

Cardboard floor & headboard is a nice touch which I’m sure he appreciates

He think it looks like he’s living in a meth den

The trick is to buy some pre-Christmas sweets in addition to the Christmas chocolates. I've eaten no choc because I've been eating turkish delight all week instead. And somehow this makes me feel virtuous because I am abstaining from the chocolate.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
