It's odd how divorced NFL box-scores can be from the actual score.
In the Rams v. Jags game, the Jaguars had more yards (358-271), and more yards/play. The teams had identical 3rd-down conversion rates, neither team committed any turnovers, and time of possession was very close.
Rams 35, Jags 7.

I don't know how I missed until two minutes ago that @alixeharrow.bsky.social was releasing a new book (The Everlasting, out on 10/28), but when I found out, I called my local indie bookstore to pre-order so fast, there's still smoke rising off my phone.

Do you read self-published fantasy novels?
If you've read the Heroes of Spira books and particularly enjoyed them, I encourage you to vote.
If you've read other such books you like, I also encourage you to vote. 🙂 Whoever are your favorites, show them some love!

Dear cookbook whose lasagne recipe instructs me to "sprinkle" ricotta cheese:
Have you *met* ricotta cheese?
Do you have a recipe somewhere that invites me to dust lightly with whole watermelons? Or drizzle with a baguette?

I want to find the right readers for my epic fantasy series, so if you want:
- a characters-first series starring an ensemble cast of good-hearted misfits, and also
-a peel-back-onion-layers story that will *feel* like the greatest 15-year-long D&D campaign you’ve ever heard of or experienced...

My older daughter has drawn some AMAZING maps for a contracted project. (They're the world map & the "Pangea" map.) I'm also including maps she's drawn for a couple of D&D campaigns, including mine.
She's open for commissions, though nothing on a tight deadline as she heads back to college! 🙂

For the one or two of my followers who are fans of both tennis and Game of Thrones:
I didn't see the match, but the final result is giving me Mountain vs. Viper vibes.

My theory is that if I make this obscure enough, it won't get out of hand.
One like = one photo of a piece/component from a board game I own. Guaranteed no duplicated games unless by some miracle the likes outnumber my collection. 😀

WARNING: GAME DESIGN NERDERY AHEAD!
1) Recently I saw someone extolling the common board game mechanism of deckbuilding. I enjoy deckbuilders – Clank! Catacombs and Quest for El Dorado are two of my favorites, and I’m always down for Dominion, Lost Ruins of Arnak, and similar games.

Me, this morning: "Huh, a tiny spider hanging by a thread in the bathroom."
Me, hours later: "Huh, that spider is... still there? What are the chances that...?"
Me: [looks up slowly]
Me: [sees 15 spiders crawling on the ceiling]
Me: "Guys, I love you, but that's not where the annoying bugs are!"

My cat kept knocking my coffee maker off the counter, but I solved that problem with nothing more than a Phillips head and Elmer's glue.

Late 80's, was sitting in a hoagie shop near Philly when Julius Erving walked in. Most remarkable thing about him wasn't his 6'7" height, but his hands when he put them on the counter. They looked like novelty clown hands, 2x the size of normal human hands. He politely picked up his hoagie and left.
