It was NEVER only about deporting undocumented people. Never.
This is about the concept of "continuous immigration vetting," an idea from Trump's first term. Rather than having people be checked for compliance at specific interactions with the government such as a visa renewals, there would be an automated system running constant checks.

The headline, while duly noting that 15-year-olds shouldn't be detained in this abomination of a concentration camp, still implies that its existence is legitimate (i.e., it may not be for 15-year-olds, but it's OK for others). Miami Herald--you need to do better.
