It’s hard to accurately describe what is happening in Minneapolis without sounding crazy.

Unmarked rental vans all over the city, with people in military gear and no id jumping out of them to take captive anyone who looks nonwhite or who makes political speech they disagree with.

r/Minneapolis If Trump invokes the Insurrection Act, that's it for me. I've spent the last week checking on my neighbors, engaging with my city, my local police, everyone. I've supported my friends and family, made sure they knew they weren't alone in their feelings of hopelessness, powerlessness. I've called and emailed my representatives, demanding answers, demanding action. I've just been overcome with this overwhelming, almost primal need to care for and support my community. If Trump invokes the Insurrection Act, and soldiers take to our streets, then that tears it for me. My son just turned 1yr. I've done my best to be a helper, so that I can still be around to support him and spend time with him. But if I have to STAND OUTSIDE in the FREEZING COLD and get the SHIT KICKED OUT OF ME by the people who are supposed to be protecting me, if I have to do that to fight for goodness, and righteousness, and justice, then that's what I'm gonna fucking do. I'm going to do it because this is not the future I want for my son. If you've been out on the streets, and you're tired, and you're hurting, don't worry. Rest when you need to. Because I know my home and I know my neighbors. When you need to rest, two more will replace you. I will be one of them. This is my home. Minneapolis is not going to quit. Minnesota is not going to quit. And FUCK EVERYONE who tries to come in here and take from us the PRIDE, LOVE, and COMMUNITY we've built. As long as I can stand, I'm going to plant my two feet between the oppressors and the home I love. I love you all. L'etoile du Nord.

50501: Minnesota 50501: Minnesota 10h Heads up: We have it on very good authority that for the next THREE weeks, MSP will be extremely ICE-y. They will be verifying documents of both employees and customers for departures and arrivals from both terminals. ICE will be present inside jet bridges as well. STAY HOME STAY SAFE Full transcript of an email received by a staff member at a certain airline: "Hi All, For your information, and in the event of questions from our customers, for the next 3 weeks ICE (the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement) will be present at MSP airport. They will be verifying documents of both employees and customers for departures and arrivals from both terminals. ICE will be present inside jet bridges as well. Note this is not something we are communicating to the customers in advance (other European carriers are also not sending out preflight emails about this), however in the event of customer questions, you have been informed. The flight crew has also been informed about the additional presence at the airport. We do not expect disruptions from this event, however in case a customer would miss the flight or a connecting flight due to additional checks from ICE agents, the airline is not liable for claims and compensation." Today at 34 & Park in Minneapolis, a woman tried to drive down the street where a protest had broken out in front of a home ICE was raiding, saying she had a doctor apt to get to. ICE agents busted out her windows, cut off her seatbelt, and pulled her out before arresting her.

Dayanne Figueroa was on her way to get coffee before heading to work when she encountered a chaotic scene in West Town: heavily armed, masked federal agents making arrests on a residential street. People yelled as vehicles honked their horn - a sign now used to alert neighbors that immigration federal agents are in the area - and witnesses said federal agents had arrested several landscaper workers presumed to be in the country without authorization. As Figuero tried to drive through the 1600 block of West Hubbard Street on Friday, Oct. 10, an unmarked vehicle driven by federal agents collided with Figueroa's as it tried to speed away from a hostile crowd, multiple videos reviewed by the Tribune show. Seconds after the crash, agents abruptly stopped their vehicle and exited with weapons in hand pointing at Figueroa, a U.S citizen. Agents then forcibly opened her door and pulled her out of the vehicle by her legs without identifying themselves, presenting a warrant or informing her that she was under arrest. As bystanders yelled, "You hit her! We have it on video!" agents ignored the crowd and forced Figueroa into a red minivan and drove away. Her car was left behind in the middle of the road, her coffee still in the cup holder, and her keys in plain view.
