alan hinman was the greatest measles fighter on earth. his work on vaccination programs saves so many lives. and he died the same day as bill foege. it’s too much. our field losing two giants on the same day
@taskforce.bsky.social mourns the loss of our friend, colleague, mentor and vaccine visionary, Dr. Alan Hinman, who passed away at the age of 88 on January 26. He spent more than 50 years working in public health, devoting his career to a vision of a world without vaccine-preventable diseases.

So Trump’s Brownshirts can murder people but Virginia Democrats can’t put a redistricting measure on the ballot.

Got it. www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...
Judge rules Virginia Democrats violated law with redistricting amendment
The process Virginia Democrats used in an effort to create more blue-leaning congressional seats was invalid, a judge said. Democrats vowed to appeal.

I'm begging the media to state this clearly -- we are all in danger now because of the deliberate choices made by Trump's administration and RFK Jr in particular.

When the next major outbreak of a preventable disease strikes, they'll point the finger at other people. But it'll be their disaster.
We had eradicated this disease.

And now because of targeted disinformation, children, immunocompromised people, elderly folks, and so many others become victims in this proxy war and we have a new avoidable pandemic.

The professionalism is indisputable, no? An undisciplined and untrained policing agency steeped in this much contempt and disregard of the citizenry can't actually be reformed. Abolish -- before more of us are beaten, killed or detained indefinitely and without legal cause.

Hilariously stupid to suggest that Greenland would be better off under the United States because of our history of treating native populations so well—or because we have better healthcare than Denmark, which has universal healthcare.
Waltz: "Denmark has ignored Greenland from a defense standpoint and they have ignored the Greenlandic native iniut people ... if you get a cancer diagnosis in Greenland right now, it's darn near a death sentence. Denmark has not invested in the way it should've over the years."

Strong agree!
I do and I'm keeping them to myself. For now, people should think about why the last three elections went the way they did and stop daydreaming about AOC or Liz Warren or Pete Buttigieg finally having their shot at the Oval Office.
True. You have any thoughts on 2028 candidates?

Wondering if that Starmer fellow might at this point get off his hind legs, and then, standing erect, tell this swine to apologize or otherwise go fuck himself. I'm asking on behalf of the British war dead. The U.K. lost soldiers at a per capita rate only slightly below that of the U.S.
Trump on NATO: "I've always said, will they be there if we ever needed them? That's really the ultimate test. I'm not sure of that. We've never needed them. They'll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan and this or that. And they did. They stayed a little back, off the front lines."
