Lol fuck that. If I get arrested for simply protesting, I will gladly hang a framed picture of my mugshot in my house. Not to be gatekeep-y, but true opponents of the regime should consider that a badge of honor.
If you've given biometrics to TSA (Pre-Check and Global Entry members) and you plan to attend a protest, you should wear a medical mask.

This is the correct take, not "wow Schumer pissed away his leverage by letting the other 5 bills get passed" (which is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of reality)
Yes. And yet Schumer basically got the hostages out of the room with the 5 bill minibus. Now the only one left in the room is DHS and he’s can tell Republicans “I will shoot” if you don’t come to the table.
Too many people remain too afraid to be honest with themselves about how little procedural power Democrats have to stop President Miller from doing whatever he wants.
January 30, 2026 at 1:54 AM
My God. This is the Democrats successfully out-leveraging the party in power and getting concessions from them, and there are still a bunch of fucking mouthbreathers in the comments saying "DeMs cAVeD aGAin!!!1!"

Some people just do not know ball at all and still endlessly screech about it 🤦
🚨 The Senate has agreed to a deal to vote on 5/6 full appropriations bills and replace the DHS funding measure with a 2-week stopgap bill, per multiple sources. That gives time to negotiate on the Dem demands for ICE and CBP restraints.

I just saw *two identical posts from identical accounts* on Prem Thakker's post criticizing Schumer's press conference about the Dems' DHS/ICE demands

But tell me more about how all the vitriolic hate of Dems in Congress is natural and completely not manufactured at all
January 28, 2026 at 10:29 PM
Lol at the time I'm reposting this, there are 633 comments on this post and I can see *27 of them*

I knew I'd been blocking a lot of "dO sOmEtHInG!!1!" accounts, but holy shit
SCHUMER says Democrats are “united” behind three DHS reforms

1/ End roving patrols; tighten the rules on warrants and require ICE to coordinate with local authorities.

2/ Enforce accountability; a uniform code of conduct.

3/ Require masks off, body cameras on, agents carry ID.

This is 15 minutes from where I live, just across the county (and congressional district) line.

This is happening in Lauren Boebert's new district. The one she specifically moved to since it was safe enough for her to win.

"Superseismic" might even be understating the ICE backlash.
Holy shit, there's an open carry #2A protest of ICE happening in Douglas County Colorado -- a very wealthy and very red suburb county of Denver. (I lived there for 16 years.) The Trump Administration pissing off committed gun owners sufficiently for them to join the protests against ICE is wild.

There are some serious Lord Farquaad vibes coming from the "I don't care! Shut down the government til November!" crowd when it comes to federal employees not getting paid for 10+ months
some of you may die but it 's a sacrifice i am willing to make ..

This is the best distillation of my animosity towards Schumer and the "establishment Dems" and why it centers on messaging.

Many, many more people now than in 2024 are convinced of Trump's fascist actions because they see it taking place. Opinion polling captures this extremely well. (1/X)
A year and a half ago, it was safe to go out and buy groceries.

A year and a half ago, there wasn't a paramiltary arm of the U.S. Government conducting ethnic cleansing in our cities.

A year and a half ago, that same gang of thugs wasn't murdering our citizens in cold blood.

Priorities change.

I don't see why this is so hard for people to understand. And these are not the only two ways we fight fascism. The courts, the media, and the campaign trails are all vital battlegrounds, too. We have to fight in all of these areas, plus fundraising and protesting, to succeed.
We can donate to both the organizations on the ground, so we can protect people from ICE, and the party, so we can maintain election infrastructure to make sure we vote Republicans out and then get rid of ICE at the government level.

We have to fight fascism on multiple fronts at the same time.

It is one of the great tragedies of our time that in order to do any meaningful organizing online, you have to deal with so many people who are chronically online.

Thank you @simonwdc.bsky.social for organizing this campaign; like protesting, it is an essential part of fighting for democracy.
I've noted that some folks are not happy with this campaign. But all I'll say is there has been lots of criticism about Ds not meeting the moment. The DFL has put together a real program and is working to meet the moment. It's a program other state parties can learn from as these tactics spread 1/
I've launched a campaign to raise money for the Democratic Party of Minnesota (@dfl.org) to help them combat ICE's lawless assault. MN Dem Chair Richard Carlbom joined me for the kickoff. Learn more, donate, and let's rally for the courageous people of Minnesota, together! 👇

I've decided that the best way I can contribute to discourse on this site (and feel like I'm doing something about the current state of things) is to be a warrior against defeatism. Best way I can do this is to encourage people to think rationally about what Trump and the GOP can and cannot do.

"I kidnapped my neighbor, which was a major escalation in the pressure campaign to make him trim the tree that's hanging over my fence"

Anyone who doesn't think the entire MSM complex (aside from MS NOW) is in the tank for Trump and the GOP is in denial
The Justice Department’s decision to open up a criminal investigation of Jerome Powell, the chair of the Federal Reserve, is a major escalation in the pressure campaign against the central bank to cut interest rates.

@chicyph80.bsky.social @trumpstaxes.com I've seen a lot of remarks over the last few weeks about how weird it is that Trump's approval keeps steadily dropping but the generic ballot averages are not seeming to move. Well, now we have one that mirrors Trump's approval. Hoping we get more!
AtlasIntel poll | 12/15-12/19

Generic congressional ballot 2026
🟦Democratic 54.4%
🟥Republican 38.4%

President Trump approval
Disapprove 59.6%
Approve 39.3%

The Browns led for 39 seconds today in their loss to the 49ers, and for some reason that seems more embarrassing than not having held the lead at all

They're worried because the possibility of a Dem president using that power to tax the ever-hating shit out of the billionaires is a very real possibility now.

And they're only scared of that because of the absolute blowout we unleashed on them at the polls yesterday.

Great work, everyone.
Court conservatives suddenly worried about the expansion of executive power for the first time this century.

When I tell doomers that the Republicans are too fucking stupid to fully implement the nationalized fascist regime they want, shit like this is exactly why I think that
Mike Johnson: "What happened last night is blue states and blue cities voted blue. We all saw that coming. And no one should read too much into last night's election results."

Trump's federal agents and prosecutors are so inept that "Luigi Wins By Doing Absolutely Nothing" may become a real headline regarding this case

A federal judge found it "appears ... that multiple employees of the Department of Justice may have violated" local rules in SDNY guaranteeing Luigi Mangione's right to a fair trial.

When you publish a website that posts the names and photos of scholars who have written or said things you disagree with and encourage people to surveil and harass them, you are not, in fact, a “free speech” organization.
It is quite simply dishonest to describe TPUSA as a “free speech” organization and not even mention the “Professor Watchlist,” as NPR just did. Reporting on a crime does not entail adopting the victim’s views.

I really want to learn how to use district-drawing sites better, because I want to see how district-specific demographics could affect the least red districts under the new plan. Hispanic and youth voters have the biggest race and age group shifts in Trump approval since December.
If you swing the Rio Grand Valley by double you are still looking at roughly a D+8 pop vote to get back to 13 seats. Under the current map they’d be at 14 at D+10. Again I think this is beside the point given the impact at the map in the R+2-D+5 range

Schrodinger's Coronavirus, or SchrOVID for short: A horrific, deadly disease created in a lab by NIH and Chinese scientists to cull world population, but also it's just a cold so stop being a baby and hiding inside and wearing a mask, it's not that bad
COVID is the deadliest virus ever when they talk about the "lab leak" theory to gin up outrage, but just a mild little cold when they talk about masking and public health measures to gin up outrage.
FDA Commissioner Marty Makary accuses the NIH of funding a lab that "brewed up a virus that killed 20 million people"
