June ended as the 36th wettest June on record for the Twin Cities, and the 10th wettest for St. Cloud. It was also the 22nd wettest for both Rochester and Hibbing, and the 26th wettest for Brainerd. #mnwx

We saw numerous record highs across the region Sunday. The high at MSP was the second warmest Mother’s Day on record. Another hot, windy day is expected today with fire weather concerns. Record high possible in northern Minnesota as well as the Dakotas. #mnwx

A tornado outbreak appears likely Monday afternoon/evening across the region, with the potential some could be strong and long-tracked. A Moderate severe risk (level 4/5) is in place.

NWS just announced a major reduction in upper-air (weather balloon) observations due to staffing shortages.

Omaha and Rapid City losing balloon launches altogether, with launches cut in half at 6 other sites.

Losing this many launches could affect severe weather forecasting and computer models.

While MSP fell just short of the record for the day (66F), numerous other locations across Minnesota and the upper Midwest saw record highs today. St. Cloud shattered their previous record of 61F. #mnwx
