In case anyone still believed that the anti-DEI purge had anything whatsoever to do with limiting organizations to their core competencies, I give you “the NEA now does disaster recovery.”
I don't know what the NEA is supposed to have to do with fostering the skilled trades, or "making America healthy again," or "fostering AI competency," but I'm PRETTY SURE that the federal government is not supposed to direct funding *specifically* at "houses of worship."

Really hard to say what the worst part of this NEA grant termination letter is (sent at 10pm on a Friday!) but I think it's finding out the federal government's priority for arts funds is now "fostering AI competency" rather than funding literature.

This administration has fired crisis counselors for our veterans and now for kids. This bullshit doesn’t make us great.
