This is what we all should be doing.
Cambridge isn't a big city, but it's not *small*--120K people total

Last night 24K people voted (<50% of all voters)

It only took 2372 votes (~10% of the votes!) to get a seat on city council

Local elections turn on small margins. Go fight for one--or at least make the other side fight.

For anyone who doesn't know where or how to help: START NEXT DOOR. Who needs food? GIVE THEM SOME without embarrassing them. It's going to get cold soon, and people need shelter. Do a blanket and sock drive. It's cheap, and it HELPS.
Take it from someone who once received them.

“The Tape Measure” is a beautiful piece of lockdown-era nonfiction that perfectly captures the complexities and nuances of distance.

I’ve started to measure everything for the very same reason, as if knowing the dimensions of things and the distances between them can somehow stem the chaos that is threatening to undo the world.

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

Gallego: "It's murder. It's very simple. If this president feels they are doing something illegally, then he should be using the Coast Guard. If this is an act of war, then you use our military and then you come and talk to us first. But this is murder ... it's disgusting."
