Civil contempt isn't an "offense against the United States," and so isn't subject to Article II's pardon power.

#SCOTUS has never expressly *held* as much, but then-Chief Justice Taft suggested this in dicta in the 1925 ruling in Ex parte Grossman:

Inside the Republican false-flag effort to turn off Kamala Harris voters
A multi-pronged dark money effort by advisers to Elon Musk targeted liberals, Jews, Muslims and Black voters with ads that were not quite what they seemed.

Democrats need to prioritize SCOTUS and state and federal appellate court seats. At least achieve a political balance. Ultimately, the courts should be separated from the political arena entirely. This country needs a court system that can be trusted and relied on to maintain the rule of law.

JFK's short presidency was an inspiration for generations of Americans.
Idk what it is, but this picture fascinates me. JFK just pulled up to Appalachia and said, “I want you to tell me what you need.” Call me crazy, because yes, times are different, but I see the vision. We need more of this!

I'm afraid for the workers and their families. The super majority of them don't have a clue as to why the American dream began in the 1940's and then, began to shut down in 1979. They obviously have no clue as to what is needed to bring it back judging from the way Americans voted.

Since Mexico already has free trade with the U.S., Trump attempted to justify his tarrif threat against Mexico on the "open" border, only to be confronted with fact that illegal southern border crossings are down by 75% ... due largely to actions by Mexico's government.
This is getting overlooked, but the whole premise of Trump's threat of tariffs is based on a lie. He's claiming Mexico must be bullied into stopping migrants. But Mexico is *already* doing this. That's a big reason crossings have dropped. 1/

UBI saves a ton of public money, but its lack of cruelty sends certain people into a rage, so it’s hard to put into practice.
Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

This should terrify every American. It doesn’t matter where you stand on immigration. Using our military as a domestic law enforcement tool at mass scale will destroy its core purpose, turn the American people against them, and damage the institution for decades.
