A podcast that is only, or primarily, on YouTube isn’t a podcast if you can’t watch that video without being on YouTube. The word “podcast” specifically *means* not being beholden to any tech giants like YouTube/Google/Alphabet. anildash.com/2024/02/05/w...

What does it mean for an online environment to be "toxic" or "polluted" and can we borrow ideas from environmental modeling to make online spaces more livable?

What if technology didn’t feel so… hollow?

Some friends and I just released a manifesto about a world where tech leaves us feeling nourished (along with an evolving list of theses about how we can build it)

Technology should bring out the best in humanity, not the worst—a manifesto for resonant computing built on five principles that reject hyper-scale extraction for human flourishing.

We pushed a new release.

There are lots of bug fixes but the big update is to the lists and curation features. This will make it easier for people to find and share the vines they love.

We also kept working on the media server to improve performance.

We updated how it works a bit to improve it. There is more to be done.

Nooki looks interesting. There are lots of alt and open alternatives to the big closed platforms. Will definately look at it when we have time, but at the moment the focus in on just getting the diVine app sorted. We're part of 'team open' as it were.
