My latest review covers @rachelignotofsky.bsky.social newest book! While “Dinosaurs” get the title role, it’s really an exploration of the history of life in general, from the Hadean to the Quaternary. I highly recommend it! 🦕🦖🦣

Andy Cruz ( @skinkpunch.bsky.social ) delivers another excellent dinosaur comic book, “Did You Know Dino? Jurassic America”. While his previous book focused on Hell Creek, this one focuses on the Morrison Formation, famous for its giant sauropods!

Had the pleasure of meeting Yi Xu, a Shanghai-based children's educational book illustrator. She's working on some exceptional palaeontology-themed books. Starting with Paleozoic. I love the highlight on the lesser known animals 🐌🧵

I’m looking forward to the Dallas Paleo Society’s annual #Fossilmania event in Glen Rose, Texas this weekend! They’ve always got a bunch of interesting stuff there, plus they usually do a guided tour of the Paluxy River dinosaur tracks at Dinosaur Valley State Park.

Here’s my review of “Atlas of Prehistoric Animals”. The chief draw of this book is the artwork of Petr Modlitba, who is basically the reincarnation of Zdeněk Burian; his gorgeous paintings are worth the price of admission on their own.

Journalists keep asking me, baffled, “What’s the Trump administration really trying to do to the science agencies?”

So I say “They are trying to destroy them. Cut off their funding, ruin their facilities, harass their staff into leaving.”

It’s not reform, and it never was. It’s destruction.
