The votes of the three House Democrats who died since November would have been enough to stop this bill. I hope that it doesn’t make it through the Senate. The cuts would be catastrophic.

The people worried about the lack of a “public square” should put that energy toward reviving local media in the U.S. It’s been decimated, and people don’t know how to follow what’s happening in their community. Social media or TV news fill the void, and it’s destructive
“Is it okay for a social media platform to be an echo chamber” back in the day we had websites and websites were generally focused on a single topic and if you were into that topic you would visit that website and if you weren’t into that topic you just didn’t go on that website and it was fine
