1/3 The age old question: is protesting effective? I recently read an article from @adapalmer.bsky.social that eloquently reminded me that resistance may not lead to instant results. Resistance is an intention, its slowing the baseline and protesting is building community in times of despair.

Today is a beautiful day. But on this Juneteenth, my mind is with the people who are still experiencing slavery in American prisons, jails, and detention centers. Today is a good day to re-dedicate ourselves to everyone's liberation.

Stop what you’re doing and watch this immediately.

Canadian doctors returned from Gaza and are sharing what they witnessed and lived.

They are demanding action from Mark Carney.

Their testimony is our failure.

Canada sucks so goddamned much.

We mustn't support a massive increase in the capacity to wage war that will be paid for by diverting resources from vital social needs like healthcare, housing and education. We can't be hoodwinked into accepting this as legitimate job creation.

The Conservative Party platform includes 4 mentions of women. 3 of those are related to an anti-trans policy.

That says everything that needs to be said about the Conservative Party and gender equity.

If we look to history, or to global contemporary movements, there is one constant: the only way to stop tyranny is through workers walking off the job.

And yet, the lack of union density in the US has primed it for a fascist take-over.

The only thing that can stop Trump is a general strike
Unions are a bullwork against fascism. That means that Canadians have to build our labour militancy too.
