The most egregious example of this is the 'Yorkshire' accent as noted by My Abraham Stoker, with the Whitby fisherman:

"These bans an' wafts an' boh-ghosts an' barguests and bogles an' all anent them is only fit to set bairns an' dizzy women a-belderin'. They be nowt but airblebs!"
Always eye-opening when someone with a southern English accent tries to write a northern English accent "phonetically" revealing what an alien perspective they have of the relationship between sounds and letters

What's more likely is everyone will have forgotten how SQL actually works because they've got so used to asking Chat GPT. And people like me who steadfastly refuse to 'vibe code' will be prized like people who still know COBOL are now.
By the time they leave primary school, every child should know how to create, query, and update a simple SQL database. They should build on this in secondary school. In 20 years time, spreadsheets will only be for shopping lists, which is as it should be.

I'm so glad that Lidl's new self-service tills say 'Please take your bags and leave the store'.

Last time I used one in Tesco I stood there for eight hours crying and trying to work out what to do next. I'd soiled myself twice before Security came over to help me out the door.

Astonishing how headlines are just 'Samir Zitouni' for the name of the guy who saved people during the stabbing incident, and not 'X-Born Samir Zitouni' or 'X-British National Samir Zitouni' like they would if he was the suspect?

It's almost like the race is only important when they want it to be.

Not only can we not trust immigrants OR British Nationals on trains any more, now we can't even trust the TRAINS not to take out terrorist attacks on us.

I know that my opinion means almost nothing as a non-PoC, but I don't really understand the logic of 'We shouldn't use the word 'Spooky', which has meant 'creepy' for hundreds of years, because a few decades back the racists stole it fair and square'.

I am trying not to use it, however.

Jump cut to Keir Starmer spending the entirety of November in a giant foam poppy costume, smashing over press conference podiums like Mister Blobby, and getting called a communist for wearing red.
Given everything going on in Britain at the moment, this year’s Poppy Wars are going to be bloody _epic_
Heaven help us all.

Anyone who absolutely adored Dying Light have an opinion on Dying Light 2? Feels like a bit of a deal on Steam at the moment for £16 but I've heard it's a bit of a let down for fans of the original.
