I’ve been spending some time recently among the flat earthers on TikTok and whew boy. It’s been a great excuse to brush up on some concepts I haven’t worked on for awhile (yay!). But it’s disheartening to see so many fall for yet another science denier trap.

On rainy days in Chile, which are incredibly rare here adjacent to the Atacama, it is traditional to eat picarones. They are a pumpkin based fried dough covered in a spiced syrup made from chancaca. We had our first rainfall last night and so our first picarones of the winter!! Delicious

Today marks 18 years since I moved to Chile 🇨🇱. We’d planned on only living here a year or two but it’s really become our home.
