Everything I've always found annoying about gay men makes more sense the more I understand queer liberation history. There was something off about them I couldn't place until transitioning. Then the weird misogyny just became impossible to ignore.
Adding on to this, gay men never were the protagonists of queerness. It is a consequence of patriarchy that the historical record seems to support this myth but we can see in modern times very clearly the roles lesbians, bisexuals, trans people, and other queers have and continue to play
Anyway, I apologize to gay men that they are no longer the shonen protagonists of queerness and so no longer feel like the most special little boy.
