Increasingly thinking that there are people who need to accept that some other people just won't like some of the games that they hold dear from childhood. And it's better to have an honest opinion based on your own experiences than being deferential to nostalgia or something being a "classic".

Ten Years.

It was Gary Oldman who said the world has gone to shit since David Bowie died. (Though he’s far from the only one to have made that observation.)

Glancing around, it doesn’t get any less true, does it?

“Oh man, look at those cavemen go…”

Learned a lot here!
With David Rosen's death, bad information about Sega as a company is starting to re-emerge across the internet.

I will try to give a very condensed version of the Sega corporate shenanigans here as to clear some of the air. 🧵

One of the last things I want a games console to do is "take over the room". It should just sit there, shut up and play my games without drawing attention to itself.

Having an inquisitive mind is a good thing.

Sometimes it’s fun to look at a genre, category or platform you don’t understand and investigate - surprising fun can be found!

I’m currently looking at baseball games.
If you want to criticize something, explain why you don't like it. Don't just go, "LOL! Into the trash!"
Try to not just go around shitting on stuff. There are platforms, franchises, and even entire genres of games I don't care for, but I'm not going to waste my time or anyone else's saying so.

Don't know if it's spoken about much but Capcom's sound designers did a fantastic job on Resident Evil: Village. The inclusion of apparently random environmental sounds does so much to build tension. Definitely a game best played through headphones. Reminded of the stellar job EA did on Dead Space.

Next! Will be slightly disappointed that I'm not playing this in VR as it was such a great experience in Resident Evil VII.

Looks like I'm actually on track to finish all of the mainline games before Requiem is released next month. For someone who takes their time with games, this is satisfying.
