Started thinking too hard about „Leben Sie wohl, James.“ and got up in my feelings about it
An image of Zemo from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier He's saying „Leben Sie wohl, James.“ A definition of the term is inset into the image. „Leben Sie wohl“ is used as a formal farewell when it is unlikely that the people are going to see each other again or when they even plan to never see each other again. It's rather sad. You wouldn't use it to say goodbye to a friend's friend (that you met at their birthday party) that you assume you will never meet again, but you would use the informal „Leb wohl“ for example after breaking up with someone and deciding that you won't talk anymore. Does that make sense to you?
