Here's my list so far. The reason I'm noting the members of the council's ad hoc Olympics and Paralympics committee (on right) is that there are only seven members of that committee and theoretically four votes could halt LA28-related legislative decisions

"Anything less is a distraction and undermines efforts to make sure the Games truly reflect the values of a city."

Now LA City Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martínez, who also sits on the city's ad hoc Olympics and Paralympics committee, is calling for LA28 chair Casey Wasserman to step down

Clearly there are other things going on 😮‍💨 but this did pass today with a shit ton of money for Metro. I am assured this is for passenger-focused, transit-relevant improvements, but trying to get a more detailed breakdown

It’s bad enough we don’t plant enough trees then we’ve got people taking out trees in the name of crime prevention. What is wrong with us?
New piece from me today in L.A. Reported — a new nonprofit publication running original, in-depth pieces about the issues that matter most to Angelenos.

It's about fighting crime by cutting down trees, dismantling bus shelters, and getting rid of shade

Fairly astonishing that the World Cup organizers fail to mention how the second-largest public transportation agency in the country has planned dedicated transit services that will not cost $250 and get you much closer than one mile away

Be there! Will be wild!

JFC- bunch of old, fucking white men clapping because they get off on childish things instead of the reality that it’s going to cost taxpayers money.

The city's plan for the Cultural Olympiad was recently approved by council.

But the official LA28 Cultural Olympiad Strategic Plan is still nowhere to be seen.

Paris had cultural programming starting four years out from the opening ceremonies 😮‍💨
LA's Department of Cultural Affairs just released its planning framework "intended to serve as a complementary plan to LA28’s Cultural Olympiad Strategic Plan."

Where is LA28’s Cultural Olympiad Strategic Plan? Good question.

Trump launched an affordability-focused midterm campaign for Republicans this week, traveling to Iowa to give a speech about how good his presidency has been for the cost of living.

That's going about as well as you'd think. Here POTUS is saying he is going to keep housing prices high.
Trump: "People that own their homes -- we're gonna keep them wealthy. We're gonna keep those prices up. We're not gonna destroy the value of their homes so that somebody who didn't work very hard can buy a home."

One asterisk for LA's World Cup plans — unlike other host cities, these fan festivals/zones are not running the length of the 39-day tournament. The official fan festival in Expo Park is only five days long. Then the fan zones jump around the County, with some only open a single day?
