This new war is not only illegal, reckless and deeply corrupt, it is the latest in a series of increasingly desperate distractions from the EPSTEIN Files.

Military compliance was needed to ensure this didn't end up escalating. DJT was sure he had this - he was wrong. Escalation is now guaranteed.

MARCO RUBIO: Well, the Cuban government is a huge problem. Yeah.

The 11th day of Christmas (because I like bag pipes). In Tudor times “[t]he ‘Twelfths’ had strict rules, one of which banned spinning, the prime occupation for women. Flowers were ceremonially placed upon and around the wheels to prevent their use.” 1st a lot of food & then music + dancing.

“This seems like Marco Rubio’s dream; not Donald Trump’s dream."
@maddow.bsky.social: “There are very few Americans right now who have any idea why the United States did this. If this was about drug trafficking then why did President Trump just pardon the former President of Honduras who was convicted of sending hundreds of tons of drugs into the US?”

Noting the date of her testimony.
During Fiona Hill's testimony to Congress on Oct 14, 2019, she described how Trump and Putin discussed exchanging Ukraine for Venezuela. The quid pro quo was if Trump refuses to help Ukraine fight off a Russian invasion, Putin would not help Venezuela (a Russian ally) resist a US takeover.

When people argue that renewable energy sources are too expensive, remember that we don’t invade countries to seize wind farms and there are no solar cartels. Fossil fuels have enormous geopolitical, public health, and climate externalities.

Final post of the night: from Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

After mentioning his pardon from Trump, he endorses increased ICE enforcement in Phoenix.

“Now that I have been fully vindicated, Maricopa County, AZ could use my anti-illegal immigration tactics again!” he wrote on Twitter.”

Rep. Greg Stanton also weighed in on news reports that will be increasing arrests in Phoenix this year.

“We will not tolerate tactics that terrorize Phoenix families because that is not who we are as Arizonans or Americans,” he wrote on Twitter.

I’m at Times Square, where an emergency “No War On Venezuela” protest just took to the street. Easily a thousand people here in real-feel 20°F weather.

“No more coups, no more wars, Venezuela’s not yours!”

“No boots on the ground no bombs in the air, U.S. out of everywhere!”

It’s hard to believe a president would time an illegal military attack to distract the public’s attention, but today is the statutory deadline for DOJ to release its report on the Epstein file production. Maybe it is just a coincidence.
