I threw the remote across the room when I turned this on
Trump is in the booth on Fox's NFL broadcast attacking Biden. Woof for all involved.

Down cemetery road is maybe the goofiest show I’ve seen this year. I have just no idea what I’m watching or how it’s supposed to make sense. It’s batty.

I saw something about sharing the published work you’re most proud of from this year. It’s been a quiet year. So here’s a note I took in April. I never wrote the story but I’m proud of the note.

I’d want to move to Oslo because of this, but even more I want to see this as not crazy right here. To just take care of each other and happily pay for that kind of world. Because it’s f-ing normal.

It’s been said before but one of the best things about BS is the intoxicating weirdness of the contextless reposts. I refuse to go deeper because I like the mystery.

"My endorsement means a lot to me" is so stupid but honest
Trump: "My endorsement means a lot to me, so I was a little disappointed in the fact that New Jersey -- I thought New Jersey would do a little bit better than that."

Just maybe the Dems won with a Democratic Socialist and two moderates because that’s who was on the ballot and people wanted to punch a fascist in the face.

Three boys came and my wife handed them candy bags and said here’s your loot, and one said "You mean like Fortnite?"
She had no idea what he was talking about and I love that.

A little ghost and a little cheerleader came trick or treating just now. We have little bags of mini candies made up for everyone. The ghost took two by mistake and put one back. The cheerleader took two, gave us the side eye, and kept them both.

It’s more than 30 years old but this is such a wild and brilliant scream of a book. Each page hums with intelligence and rage. But it’s funny too, and raw, and like nothing I’ve ever read.

From a gentler happier time. Sometimes I imagine a future when I can again look forward to bad news about Trump and his family, and low-key feel weird a out enjoying it. Right now it’s just a fantasy though.
It can’t be healthy to keep wanting to read bad news about Trump and his family and to think of this kind of news as "oh this will be a nice fun low-stress read before bedtime" but that’s where I am. That presidency damaged me.

Keep having the same thought that came back to me after Lander’s arrest today - all this is only possible because there are people willing to carry out the orders. Feel like too often we give these people a pass and only look to the ones making policy. Can’t happen without people willing to obey.

I appreciate how Slate seems to have someone on staff whose full-time job is rewriting the headlines three or four times a day. It’s weird and they’re usually terrible headlines but I’ve come to really look forward to it. Just to see how they’ve reframed a Gilmore Girls article for the 3rd time.

Incredibly short story about a big subject. Already apparent to most Post readers that there’s been a shift (who knew George Will was still so prolific) but amazing to see it distilled like this.

It’s like the guy who sued to avoid making a wedding cake for a gay couple years ago then sued because he lost his job and couldn’t get a job at the bakery that actually made the gay couple a cake.

Nominating Robot Dreams (on Netflix now) as one of the great films of the 21st century so far. Just a gorgeous piece of filmmaking. And a great New York movie on top of that! Happy to be part of a world where this movie exists.

My sister ate bees.
Not like every day. She had Down Syndrome and could be crazy sometimes. Once when she was like a toddler a bee was flying around her and she just ate that motherfucker.
She would be 52 today - died 15 years ago - but I still think about how bad ass that was.
