We're over four years into Windows 11 and largely the only noteworthy updates are the additions of removed Windows 10 features. Maybe if Microsoft wasn't so stubbornly trying to turn it into an "agentic OS" this wouldn't be a problem. I haven't heard a single person ask for that in conversation.
Windows 11 is finally getting a Windows 10 feature that was removed when Windows 11 launched in 2021. Calendar appointments are coming back to the notification center soon

Getting a firmware update on a 10+ year old smartwatch is awesome. I hear it's just for time zone fixes but it's a welcome surprise nonetheless.

This is a $40 streaming stick that strictly runs web apps, performs worse than cheaper options, and lacks key apps and features. I feel bad for anyone who buys this over basically anything else. The regular Stick 4K routinely sells for less on sale, and Walmart's $20 Onn 4K runs circles around this.

Well, today is the (official) end of the road for Windows 10. It's had its fair share of flaws, but it really became a rock-solid OS as time went on, only for Windows 11 to walk back on that stability. I can't ever forget how much of a lifeline it was to older PC hardware. You won't see that again.

This is easily the worst thing that could happen to Android as a platform. It's fine to tighten security, but not to the extent where it eliminates the main benefit for enthusiasts, as it's been since the beginning. It's also practically a surveillance tactic when you factor in the identification.

I understand that businesses need to make strategic decisions, but this is just plainly unethical. You're not improving privacy or security if your intent is just to make an external site *sound* dangerous to your benefit. That angle that is often brought up is not valid here.
Apple hates iOS app developers. They were dumb enough to write it out clearly in slack. They go out of their way to make your life worse.

For what? What is this kind of wealth and influence supposed to even buy you anyway? www.theverge.com/news/658008/...

I switched away from Chrome as my browser of choice over 5 years ago, but I think this would eliminate any chance there ever was that I would return to using it. The last thing the top browser in the world needs is more AI slop.

Currently restoring this 20 year old Dell Latitude D610 to its former glory. This thing is a tank. My mom had used it up until 2015 and it was previously running Linux (elementaryOS 0.3.1, to be specific). It makes a nice machine with impressive I/O for messing around with legacy Windows software.

Saw this strange change when using YouTube Music today where the release year replaced song duration in the queue. Not even ten minutes later I saw a post on Reddit about it and the YTM Product Manager confirmed it's a bug.

I'm cracking up at Facebook comments saying things along the lines of "My car is paid off, so I don't care about car prices going way up due to tariffs." The cult is real.

Gemini isn't exactly giving me much confidence in its ability to replace Google Assistant when that eventually happens. Results are inconsistent, and even doing something as simple as turning on a light seems to take a lot longer. I'm curious how this transition plays out.
