Getting a firmware update on a 10+ year old smartwatch is awesome. I hear it's just for time zone fixes but it's a welcome surprise nonetheless.

I'm *shocked* this guy had a falling out with the GOP. SHOCKED I tell you!

My ODROID-C5 already arrived. Excited to explore this board coming from a Raspberry Pi 3B+. Who else just picked one of these up?

Currently restoring this 20 year old Dell Latitude D610 to its former glory. This thing is a tank. My mom had used it up until 2015 and it was previously running Linux (elementaryOS 0.3.1, to be specific). It makes a nice machine with impressive I/O for messing around with legacy Windows software.

Saw this strange change when using YouTube Music today where the release year replaced song duration in the queue. Not even ten minutes later I saw a post on Reddit about it and the YTM Product Manager confirmed it's a bug.

Same! My battery life is down to 3 days at most, but everything still functions perfectly. I've been really impressed by the new voice assistant from the latest Rebble hackathon.

Finally got around to trying this and it wasn't too bad at all. It took 3 attempts, but that last attempt only took 2 and a half minutes to complete. I was shocked. So cool to see these developments evolving so quickly.

I took my old Pebble Time out of storage after seeing the big news of a return. It got its first charge in years and it seems to still work remarkably well. Of course I've yet to see how long the battery will last, but it's fun to check this thing out again and explore the apps I've missed.

I saw this Volkswagen Golf Country today at the Philly Auto Show and first of all, it was plain cool, but second, I can see exactly where Rivian got its inspiration for the R3.

I know this is nothing new, but being able to use a full Linux desktop externally on a modern Android phone is just wild. I've started to use Motorola Ready For and Termux PRoot distros on my Edge+ 2023 and it serves as a great reminder of how smartphone hardware largely goes underutilized.

To follow this up, the Lenovo ThinkSmart View is quite possibly the best device in this category. Hilariously it was exclusively used for Microsoft Teams meetings when new but I've flashed this refurbished unit over to LineageOS for full customization. You gotta love the Android ROM community.

It turns out an old Android tablet on its own makes a good candidate for a Magic Mirror display. This is my old Fire HD 10 (7th gen) running it locally in Termux and displaying it through WallPanel. While I like smart displays, this is much more customizable in a way that an Echo Show will never be.
