If Jeff Bezos could afford to spend $75 million on the Melania movie & $500 million for a yacht to sail off to his $55 million wedding to give his wife a $5 million ring, please don't tell me he needed to fire one-third of the Washington Post staff.

Democracy dies in oligarchy.

Heads are going to explode 💥

Cato Institute just nuked the lie. Immigrants have cut U.S. deficits by $14.5 TRILLION since 1994, slashing the national debt by a third.

All that “immigrants are bleeding us dry” noise? Absolute bullshit.

It hasn’t gone unnoticed that all four people arrested today, including two journalists, were Black.

And now we find out the charge is “conspiracy to violate civil rights,” a statute rooted in the Ku Klux Klan Act.

Sit with that.

This is what riding transit across Rhode Island, especially Providence, looks like right now in the aftermath of Winter Storm Fern. ❄️🌨️

Riders have to get on/off the bus on the road. Very dangerous, especially at night. Even more dangerous if the bus stop is located along a stroad. 😪

Law enforcement officers have always been unmasked in this country until ICE started wearing them last year.

*That* is the departure from norms. *That* is the step too far.
Tillis says he opposes ICE being barred from wearing masks: "I've seen people dox me. I've seen people take pictures and identify law enforcement officers and then put their families at risk. So, I think that's a step too far."

“And then they come over to try to perform some kind of medical aid by ripping his clothes open with scissors, and then maneuvering his body around like a ragdoll, only to discover that it could be because they wanted to count the bullet wounds, to see how many they got. Like he’s a deer.”

History reminder: SCOTUS invented qualified immunity during the civil rights movement to side with the racist cops who arrested 15 Episcopal priests taking part in the Mississippi freedom rides. Check out Pierson v. Ray
This was a new interpretation of an almost 100 year old law - The KKK Act. 1/
There's no ICE accountability without ending qualified immunity.

They're murdering people. There won't be justice for the lives they've stolen, but there must be accountability.

My bill with @markey.senate.gov would ensure families can sue the agents murdering their loved ones.
