Anyone intentionally starting wildfires at this time of year, under the current conditions, deserves some time for reflection in a prison cell.

We polled Nature readers to ask if they were thinking of leaving the US for jobs abroad. Three-quarters of them (who said they were US-based scientists) said yes. 🧪

75% of US scientists who answered Nature poll consider leaving
More than 1,600 readers answered our poll; many said they were looking for jobs in Europe and Canada.

An easy start for cutting Amazon out of your life is to treat it like a catalogue; look for the product you want then go and buy it from the website of the actual business instead.

Requires very little effort to make a big difference in who you're giving money to.

Another imperious away performance. Back three of Keeley, Quinn and Cooper all so solid. Cooper looks like a great arrival along with Lambe at right wing back.

Perfect goal from Warren Davis to top it off.

I'm fully convinced that if fascism had never existed in the past century and emerged as a new ideology today, it would look exactly like the United States in 2025.
We now have generative AI to hallucinate a past that never was, while simultaneously purging the digital archives of traces of a history that doesn't fit the white supremacist ideology of our new techno-fascist overlords. It‘s getting darker every day
The Pentagon has marked 26,000 photos for deletion to purge evidence of diversity.

The photos include the 1st black pilots in WWII, the 1st women to pass infantry training & the plane that dropped the Hiroshima bomb because it’s called the “Enola GAY”.

This is real. We’re living in a horror story.

“A colossal missed opportunity” - a clear message in a new report from from Ireland’s fiscal and climate advisory councils.

Instead of taking action to cut emissions (making energy cleaner & more secure, & diversifying farming) we face €26 billion in compliance costs to meet EU targets

The new government aren't wasting any time. Plans are afoot to increase fares on public transport.

Meanwhile electricity prices for some households will increase by 10% from April and Micheál Martin wants landlords to be able to increase your rent.

Heartbreaking. Still can't believe this practice isn't severely clamped down on.
On Friday, a whole mountain west of Glengarriff was burnt, with a wall of flames visible through the night for miles around.

It's pure ecocide, layered on top of ecocide (sheep), and it just beggars belief that this is still going on in the year 2025.

Per Dr Atul Gawande, ex USAID: “All malaria supplies protecting 53 million people, mostly children, including bed nets, diagnostics, preventive drugs, and treatments – terminated.”

There are no words that sufficiently describe this level of cruelty and sadism.
