The consensus is that THE FIFTH HEAD OF CERBERUS is anti-colonialist, to me it is speculative on the concept of colonialism itself. The age of the tree circle could imply the abos have only been on St Anne < 5 centuries. Like PEACE a theme might be “we’re all just passing through”.

When asked what books one should familiarize themselves before reading THE BOOK OF THE NEW SUN Wolfe said “The New Testament”. I think this is good advice as well for THE BOOK OF THE LONG SUN as well (for both) to read a solid overview of 1st-3rd century Christian Gnosticism.
