There's plenty of blame to go around, incl. the failing EPA licensing system which failed to prevent the repeated pollution events which would undoubtedly have weakened the resilience of any wildlife in the river,making them more vulnerable to whatever pollutant ultimately caused the huge fish kill.

Well done, John! Have begun the excellent book- got me reflecting on Irish agricultural change over the last 60 years (and summers with my farmer godfather in Kildare in the 70's). Thanks also for the opportunity to re-connect with said crowd.
