@scottlynch78.bsky.social's two episodes are some of the best I've listened to. Genuinely interesting craft stuff, some life advise, and enough frivolity to keep things fun.

I need to finally get his books out of the, 'yeah I definitely should have already read those...' pile.
How to PLAN a HEIST 💰
In Ep. 186, guest author @scottlynch78.bsky.social tells co-hosts @adrianmgibson.bsky.social @mjkuhnbooks.bsky.social & Greta Kelly how he defines heists vs. capers, and how to plot the perfect heist.

Everything is rather bleak. This is your reminder to nurture you soul a bit.

If there's nothing actionable you can do right now, you dont have to just sit in it and watch all the videos.

Its cool to play silly xbox games and read about dicks and fairies - whatever your chill out things are.

I seem to be in a minority, but 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple left me a bit cold.

Yes, _that_ scene is metal as fuck - and great - but the rest of it... dunno, it felt a bit like another, 'and the mentally ill person did lots of evil' story, with a few nice moments from Fiennes.

Im probably a bit complacent to how impressive some of the views by my work are.

Its such a shame organised religion is basically a cesspit.

Their architecture fucking slaps.

Author/band/stand-up says they're coming to 'The Southwest'...

...nearest event is a 3 hours drive away, in Bristol or Bath.

It wafts to the ground like a leaf in the wind - not that we get either down here - a plastic white square with a picture at its centre

It lands face down on my feet. Across the back someone has scrawled, 'This is the guy' in permanent marker

I lean down and turn it over. My face stares back at me
The streets of the Undercity are never clean. Garbage and grime are drip down from the endless bridges of the city above. Residents never go outside without a sturdy hat. What object drops at your feet that makes you decide to enter a lift and search for its owner?

Did Americans play British Bulldog at school?

Follow up, if yes, did they still call it British Bulldog or was it renamed something weird like 'Yanky Doodle'?

When I'm made President of the earth, my first executive order will be to make eating on a podcast a criminal offence - punishable by death.

Stayed up to finish @chucktingle.bsky.social's Camp Damascus.

Reading by torchlight as I don't have a lamp near the bed. 🔦

It was everything I hoped/expected given their online vibe.

It was possibly the most I've engaged with a 1st person story. Overly analytical works for me.

Tl;dr - book good.

"Dude, I think that guy at the bar is checking you out."

You look up, and its me, sat on the cow stool. A whole-milk moustache wet on my upper lip.

I wink.

It's love at first sight.

Perks of a rubbish memory; I forgot I pre-ordered this before Christmas, so it's arrival is a pleasant surprise.

Looking forward to some new @trnapper.bsky.social

I only started writing after my semi-serious brain injury a few years ago.

So, I'm quite literally saying; you don't need to be brain damaged to want to be an author, but it helps.

Imagine going back in time 15 years to warn people about what it'll be like in 2026.

"Yeah, so the US President is threatening war!"

"Russia?"

"Nope."

"China!?"

"...Denmark."

"You didn't need to lie about being a time traveller, dude"

Looking at reviews for a potential read and one started, "2* - it was written in third person and I prefer first person or i struggle to empathise with the POV"

Jesus. 😂😂

Its like 2* reviewing a car because its a manual and you can only drive automatic.

Seems unfair that you only get to use the bouncy slide to get off a plane when things have gone wrong. The bouncy slide should be a treat they give to the best passengers who did the flight correctly.

Cup of coffee in my new mug.

Really glad that Fynn is proving so popular on The Great Pottery Throwdown, but he better not get too busy to do my silly tattoos.

I enjoy Red Light Spells Danger, by Billy Ocean, far more than I should - when it comes on a running playlist I FLY.

Side note, my running playlists are unhinged. No one else is going To Zanarkand (remix) - Numb/Encore - Defying Gravity

The level design on Star Wars Outlaws is awful, the odd yellow ledge you can climb just serves to remind you that there are all the others ledges you just bump into.

Its also got that loose, clumsy modern third person thing, where you have the turning circle of a tugboat.

Hope the story is good 😬

Also, some of them are rebelling against their leadership and moving to Reform.
