You may laugh, but the Macbeths are a much better role model for a marriage than Romeo and Juliet. They discuss their problems (killing the king of Scotland), share their hobbies (killing the king of Scotland), and resolve their conflicts (by killing the king of Scotland).

Well fuck it, I've started writing a stage play.

It's been a 5 years, probably more, since I did anything for stage. Christ knows if I'll finish it, but I just felt I had to do this one.

Every so often I return to this sketch, to enjoy 2 minutes of the tightest writing + performing in comedy:

UK inching closer towards the political apocalypse:

- Prime Minister resigns
- Snap election
- Reform voted in
- Emergency podcasts every hour of the fucking day

A vintage post from Vintage Wicks 👌🥂
The production team are incredible. Working in studio with Alan & Hemi (and Darren!) was an absolute dream.

I maintain that David K Barnes is one of the finest comic writers in a generation, but sadly he also excels with any script he puts his quill to. All whilst being a very good egg. Despicable.

Massive congratulations to @peterwicks.com for his One Voice Awards nomination for the role of Didius Julianus! 🎉

It truly is an incredible comic performance in a cracking script by @davidkbarnes.com

Even if you’re not up to date on The Amelia Project, this episode works standalone, check it out!

DOCTOR: I told him he needed to get out to a show, that was how he would cure his depression.

CHOTINER: So you learned this technique in school?

DR: No, not— listen it was good advice. Pagliacci was in town.

C: Right. Is it standard to give advice before learning a patient’s name?

DR: Now look

Watching the Logopolis studio footage of Tom Baker recording his final scene of Doctor Who, and I’m finding it far more emotional than the actual episode!

Seeing him leaving the role in real time.

It’s heart wrenching when, shots done, he leaps up and bolts. Just wants to get away.

The task for political leadership now is not just to tell the truth, but to make people care about what is true and what is not.

My GP just made a statement that you *really* don’t want to hear when he’s in the middle of examining you:

“Huh. You learn something new every day.”

Living in Rome itself under Caligula must have been fucking terrifying, but at least people living in the most distant provinces of the empire didn't get minute-by-minute updates on exactly how insane, unpredictable and evil he was being.

I don’t want to do it, but I may seriously have to tell America to pack it in.
America, could you give it a rest, eh?

Watching the Graham Williams documentary on Doctor Who S15 box set and, God, I wish he were still with us. I’d want to tell him how much his 3x seasons of Who meant to me. The humour, the ideas, the joy. I wouldn’t have become a writer without those stories.

I’ve long been baffled by the meandering 1960s comedy Rocket to the Moon, so thank God for @drmatthewsweet.bsky.social’s excellent explanation of it on the StudioCanal blu-ray. Much more entertaining than the film itself!

Regaining access to my Twitter/X account (after 2+ years of not using it) took me the best part of 24 hours.

Deactivating my account forever took me less than 24 seconds.

It's the social media platform for bots, paedophiles, and the politicians who want to reach them. They're welcome to it.
