It's no wonder that Nigel Farage tried to pretend he didn't know Nathan Gill well, though obviously he did.

The bribes Gill took are just the tip of an iceberg of Russian influence, and Brexit fitted the Kremlin agenda of dividing Europe all too well.

Democrats need to attack Putin on Ukraine and interference in US politics, JDVance for falling for Putin, and Trump for having been his shill all along. It's shocking how Russian talking points pervade US media. If in doubt, talk to the Finns, Latvians, Estonians and Swedes!

Listening to superlative production of Tosca on @bbcradio3bot.bsky.social with Russian soprano Anna Netrebko. It would have been much better, given the controversy to have asked her about the politics of the piece and especially Act III, which is a dead ringer for Putin's Russia inc defenestration.

That's the spirit!
When Democrats hold the majority in Congress, we will hold anyone accountable who aids Trump’s corruption.

So they didn’t like the ad. Let’s just post Reagan’s 5 min speech against tariffs as it appears on YouTube.

Over and over. On all platforms (some of y’all are still on X).

Georgia now refines Russian oil.

Another proof that the Russian takeover of Georgia must be addressed simultaneously with assisting Ukraine, not after. It’s too urgent to wait — and it’s not even costly to pressure the Georgian Dream.

Do you know how many people I know, journalists, thinktankers, civil servants, politicians, who always excel at explaining to you why what is currently happening was always bound to happen, from which they conclude that it should happen?

New post just out:

The relationship between Russia and the European radical right goes well beyond Reform's Nathan Gill being bribed.

In this post I trace the history back to the 1990s and look at the threat it poses now.

Always loved the idea of a whiskey rebellion. But it seems it was just another case of Appalachians not paying tax. Although the Pothean (sp?) they were making was probably horrible!
The very first statute authorizing domestic use of the military during domestic emergencies, enacted in 1792 by a Congress full of the same folks who wrote and ratified the Constitution, expressly provided for judicial review in certain circumstances *before* the President could even send troops.
