There is no reason for ICE agents to be armed. If they are shot at — and there’s no record of this ever actually happening — they could readily summon state or local police to protect their safety.

Old growth trees are pretty impervious to ice storms, when the water on their needles freezes and becomes heavy. These big trees protect the smaller ones. Without them the smaller trees topple like dominoes.
