If you’re drawn to a politician because they promise to be cruel to Muslims or Jews or immigrants or gays or transgender people etc, the least you should do - the absolute, bare bones, still morally vacuous least - is ask yourself whether they’re likely to stop at the group you want to see targeted.

Belter of a book- twists and a brilliant flow to it which meant I got to stage where I couldn’t put it down! #BookSky #ReadingChallenge

A game of two halves, this- slow burner so I had a break with another book in between before really getting into it! Good plot, brought together nicely #BookSky

“Musk is a deeply unpopular figure in the UK, with a net favourability rating of -35, lower than Nigel Farage or Tommy Robinson.”

And although most Brits are angry about the grooming gang scandal, they think Musk is commenting purely out of opportunism/self-interest.
Brits overwhelmingly reject Elon Musk as half say he's 'threat to democracy'
A new poll found both the erratic tech billionaire, and Tommy Robinson whom he championed on Twitter, are deeply unpopular with the public

Somewhat ignorantly, I didn’t know enough about #TheTroubles. So I looked to sort that…
It’s surreal.
I don’t think I appreciated the level of violence or the sheer number of different strands & factions across such a divided spectrum.
What an achievement to reach an agreement #BookSky #NonFiction

This. On repeat.

Karma at its finest.

Exactly that- I loved it.
Love the idea of the perspective it gives too: why are there wars? Why is it too much to ask to look after the planet? Why doesn’t everyone appreciate the freakish circumstances that brought about our existence?

Just blitzed ‘Orbital’ by @samharveyauthor.bsky.social. Hands down the BEST book I’ve read!
That so much can be happening in such beautiful writing in such a short space of time is amazing.
We don’t realise how lucky we are to be on this planet!

Interesting theory.
It’s a very scary world right now and everyone will be watching what’s happening in #SouthKorea carefully: some in fear; some with curiosity….
#SouthKorea right now is experiencing something similar to what is going to happen under #Trump

His policies will be VERY unpopular, and they will cause resistance and uprising. Then he will declare martial law and insist “radical communists” are trying to overthrow the US.

Watch closely & learn.

This is a really interesting write-up that shines a light on the untold reality of South Korea. On seeing the breaking news, the line seems to be a simple deflection of ‘blame north Korea’

I was preparing to pitch an op-ed on the nationwide protests calling for President Yoon's resignation, aiming to provide global context amid the limited international coverage.

Given the urgency, I’m sharing it now. I didn’t expect events to escalate this quickly. #SouthKorea #Democracy

Proper good feeling, that

I dug out my 1995 sticker album and we went through it together.

“Daddy, that player for Forest is called Haaland too?”

“That’s….erm…that’s Erling’s Dad”

I’m really pleased that a compromise was reached to allow for her running again!

Saw Bluebird up on the Isle of Bute and also on the big return to the Ruskin museum.

Can’t wait to see her up and running again, especially home on Coniston 🤩 Well done to all involved

This is such good news!

An unbelievable machine with the most fascinating history.

All that effort to painstakingly restore her, she deserves to be on the water- not left in a museum

I’m 6’4” and I am not the problem- a sea of idiots watching the gig through phones held aloft is the problem!! ✊🏼 #ComeAtMe!
I don't care if it's unfair, I don't care if it's physical discrimination. If you're over six foot, stand at the back of the gig, you're blocking so many people's view.

Well as a country, the powers that be sabotaged themselves with Brexit but fail to acknowledge this.
They continue regardless in a state of ignorance thinking we are what we once were. One where we can call the shots at the international table and summon billionaires at will 🤪

The lesser-spouted facts.

Is a ‘farmer’ worth £60m whining because his DiddlySquat loophole has been shut the same as regular hard working farmers? No.

Nor is the reason behind their outrage.

A few facts about Labour's Budget and farmers.

But, like so much else, it’s in a state having suffered 14yrs of suffocation and neglect.
This is why millionaires like Clarkson and Farage are masquerading amongst the genuine farmers. It’s distraction. It’s steering media attention away & stopping people looking at real problems and issues
