NYS Department of taxation just sent me a notice claiming i underpaid my 2022 taxes by like $75. This feels like one of those state level scams.
Like its too small to spend a lot of time fighting but also fuck that I paid my taxes.

Google defaulting all Gmail users to a setting that enables Google to harvest all your emails into chatbot training is straight-up evil and invasive.

If the House ever reconvenes, every Democrat should sponsor a resolution impeaching Trump for the destruction of the East Wing. It's not his worst crime, but it should be shocking to the largest number of Americans. Of course it'll fail - but the whole party should go on record calling this a crime.

Yeah, Obama definitely bears some blame for where we are.
If you just lookat the kind if ten thousand foot view of his presidency it was pretty good.
Once you get into some of the details...not so much. This one in particular was very bad for democracy.

It's not even really that hard to imagine what the memo looks like, assuming they continue bothering with such niceties. You take the Obama-era DOJ memo justifying the assassination of Anwar al-Awlaki, plus assert the targets are in an "insurrectionary" city rendering capture infeasible.
