We're delighted to announce the publication of our new zine, Flow.
It's by far our best and biggest publication yet, featuring 60 pages of work from 35 Dartmoor visual artists exploring the theme of flow across a diversity of styles and mediums, interweaved with the words of writer, Kirsteen McNish.

Exceeding our 76 grants in 2025, we have currently awarded 88 Moor Boots grants across 14 Ten Tors teams.

This will enable young people to purchase essential outdoor equipment, such as boots and waterproof trousers.

This one is finished now…..I think! A few days of fiddling with it, but it’s time to stop.

Now to frame and put on my website.

Titled, ‘Spirit of Winter’ I hope it conjures up the feel of cold darker days on Dartmoor.

Not a difficult walk but one wet November I went there, stepped up to my knee in deep mud & fell backwards into a morass when pulling it out. The drive home was, er, interesting

Taking photos of ponies is normally considered valid grounds for excommunication from @dartmoorcollective.org but I'm going to bend the rules for this little crew, who clearly look like they've just dropped their "difficult", post-rehab third album.

Dartmoor-raised artist Dominie Hooper's debut album, "In This Body Lives" is released today.

It's a beautiful record - as darkly layered and complex as the moor itself.

An “adit” is a horizontal shaft used in mine works to drain the mine of water. The water drizzles down the sides of the adit where, very slowly, it reacts with the minerals in the granite. Beautiful forms and patterns emerge on these walls in some places.

The idea behind the brief for Flow was to create a theme that was open to wide interpretation but which would inspire artists to look beneath the surface of Dartmoor and explore how it is shaped as a landscape - by people, time, weather and water...
