Another reason for mandatory minimums in cases like this. When a victim is too traumatized to testify (which is what likely happened here), it shouldn’t result in their attackers merely getting phrases. You read right. This wasn’t a sentence. It’s a phrase.

More thoughts. The line we’ve heard is that Trump left Maduro’s henchmen in place because they’d better be able to stabilize the country with Maduro gone. Couldn’t they have done more to make sure the opposition could settle things down?

I had reluctantly waded back to Twitter when it became apparent Trump was sinking. But I cannot stay on a platform whose safeguards are so weak that it’s possible to create deepfake CSAM.

As someone who has no qualms about calling out racism, this piece should have never been published. It glosses over the evidence that Moore stalked his honey for some time—which apparently led to her coming forward in the first place.

To understand why Trump’s invasion of Venezuela is an abomination, consider the Bill Cosby case. You can still call Cosby a pervert and rapist and still condemn how prosecutors shredded the Constitution to convict him.
