I just published a research paper about FolkRAG, a tool some colleagues and I developed for making digital collections searchable via natural language interaction. my favorite annual thing is cobbling together a cover band with my friends for a Halloween benefit show.

This year we're doing The Cranberries! It's a benefit show for the @dcmigrantmutualaid.org, who are doing important work in DC. Show is 10/24 at Haydee's. Get 2 tha gig, DC friends!
It’s my favorite time of the year: Halloween cover band SZN!

I’m gonna play Cranberries songs with some pals as THE BOO-BERRIES on Oct. 24 at Haydee’s (the one on Georgia Ave.) in Washington, D.C. Proceeds benefit MSMA. Come thru.

There's a small genre of song that's like "song created for a movie that is supposed to be a hit song within the fictional world of the movie."

Have any been actual good-enough-to-be-hits besides "Golden" and "I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow?"

Final Bad Moves show was an all-timer. Great band, so many friends old and new, perfect vibes. DC forever.

I’m finishing up a pretty technical paper that straddles computer science, digital humanities, and archives using a bunch of national library data. I’d love some input from Bluesky about good journals to submit to. I haven’t done this in a while! 📚 #skybrarians #academicsky
