The worst part about Trump’s ridiculous posturing and nation-threatening is that the people we need to stand up to him have zero spines. There’s no leaders in the Republican Party (and very few in the Democratic Party).

The lyric didn’t keep up with inflation, but what a great emotive line: “I could spend three dollars and sixty-three cents on diet coca-cola and unlit cigarettes”

Wilco’s Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and the song Ashes of American Flags. Chef kiss.

Ugh, I'm sad Amorim lost his job. I really like him and he was speaking truth to power. Now we go through another cycle and we'll get back to this in a year with Fletcher. Hopefully we get a bounce and get Champions League by the end of the season.

I remember when people tried to claim Rubio had some sort of backbone or operated on conservative principles. Neocons AND neolibs can get fucked. Hate it here.

Rewatched Rhett McLaughlin's interview with Alex O'Conner on the deconstruction of his faith. Really connects with my own path. Such a powerful conversation and worth a watch.

Yesterday, my wife and I got to support a family, by buying gifts for their daughter (who happened to be the same age as our oldest). I don't know these people or their daughter, but best experience ever.

If you can afford it (and that's a big caveat), you should consider doing it too.

2021's winner was KC Courage, playing in the @wpslofficial.bsky.social.

Lis Schendel described the team as "the type of club we aspire to play for, to have our children play for, and they are the type of club we want in our city so we can root for them."

In 2019, it was Pensacola FC of @wpslsoccer.bsky.social.

“The best soccer played in this country is played by women. And, if that is a fact, then Pensacola FC is one of the best amateur clubs in the world, certainly the best amateur club in the country.”
