Need to put words down so they are out of my head. Using poetry to try and distill both sadness and anger.
Basically screaming into the void tbh.

If you've read The Long Earth, this is a great way to re-live it and dive deeper. Entertaining and also caught things I did not across a few re-reads. If you've not read it or the series, go and read it! Brilliant and also poignant in todays world.
Our first episode on The Long Earth (covering chapters 1-25) comes out tomorrow!

Really enjoying your poetry, both here and live. Usually I use poetry as writing therapy for me, but wanted to pen something for you since Felixstowe, and now managed to find the words.

An amazing time at the Felixstowe Book Festival, aseeing @robinince.bsky.social talk about Normally Weird Weirdly Normal, speaking briefly about fairness and justice sensitivity before hand, and getting my book signed. Feeling a bit full of emotion hearing and thinking on neurodivergence but happy

Stupidly only just learned that Goodreads is owned by Amazon. Annoying. However, now found a federated alternative to try, though obviously far less reviews. Though I am happier not telling the place running independant bookshops out of business what books to focus on next.

Where was I? Ah yes, the beach! Next story is another microwrites debutante, Jem Tenebris with Any Weather Is Good Beach Weather. Jem is a great example of a writer seeing the zine and wanting in. To that end, please do spread the word! I want as many voices as possible!

Came across this article on Autism and identity and found it very interesting. Definitely worth a read. neuroclastic.com/the-identity...
The Identity Theory of Autism: How Autistic Identity Is Experienced Differently
Terra Vance posits that Autistic people experience empathy and emotions differently because the way autistic identity is structured differs from non-autistic people’s identity constructs.

Back to the sea! And here's @danstow.bsky.social's second piece (his first I will come to). Remember I said the ocean section has a playfulness to it? I wasn't kidding. This is a jaunty poem with a strong flavour of Wind in the Willows to it.

Working through the brilliant Long Earth series by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter via audiobook. Amazing just how relevant and eerily poignant in the present day they are, capturing divisiveness, persecution of 'different', protectionism, and dangers vs benefits of technology.

Just finished listening to this in 45 min chunks. Amazing learning how the Mongols were to an era what the Sea peoples were to the end of Bronze age civilisations. Also fascinating to see the exchange of science and technology shift West to kickstart the renaissance in Europe. Highly recommended!!
