The Mummy (1999) is perfect and I shall be taking no more statements on the matter.

Character, pacing, action, comedy, Brendan Fraser in a dope harness… No notes.

I'm in this one!

My article 'A Guide to Responsible Scaring' features alongside some phenomenally inspiring and thought-provoking pieces written by talented authors.

A huge thanks to the Leaf Journal team for their generosity and time, this was so much fun
We have 10 articles with a greater international focus than ever. There are 3 emergent themes in this volume: LGBTQ+ writing; writing through a disability and mental health lens, & the broad intersection of ethics and craft. ojs.library.lancs.ac.uk/lj/issue/vie... #ukkidlit #academicsky #booksky

Ok, so the character’s got a rifle, they take it out of the crook of their shoulder, spin it round, and hit the car window… oh, what’s that called again? Is there a verb for that? I’ll Google it.

Nevermind.
A butt stroke.

I think @junodawson.bsky.social has me in a headlock and I couldn’t be happier…

Finished Her Majesty’s Royal Coven, immediately downloaded The Shadow Cabinet.

Consumed The Shadow Cabinet, instantly preordered Human Rites.

Now, I’m chomping at the bit for my Queen B reserve on BorrowBox…

May’s been one big surf ‘n’ turf… bit of sea, bit of land, probably too much on one plate but we did it anyway (and now I’m happily exhausted)

I now need excuses to write people letters because these stamps are GORGEOUS.
A lovely new set of stamps is being released by the Royal Mail next week featuring famous myths and legends of the UK designed by Adam Simpson, including Nessie, Black Shuck and the Grindylow! #philately

Established authors, if an aspiring writer asked you what you think they need to ensure a long-term writing career, what would you say?

Mine, based on speaking to A LOT of authors, would be - stamina, a thick skin, an openness to learn, enthusiasm for self-promotion & other author friends you trust

Sometimes I consider starting a food account, but some days it’s pretty ramen and burrata pasta, and others (most days) it’s frozen pizza
