Took this photo (35mm Kodak Tri-X) last summer in Isleton, CA. Amused to see this building now showing-up in FB ads, it's for sale, what a bargain at $150k! Except it needs to be rebuilt, including the foundation :-)

Against my own instincts I am turning into a pretty unashamed credentialist. We've become so enamored of the Hollywood narrative where the scrappy outsider proves all the established experts wrong that we lose sight of how rare it is in reality, and how HUGELY damaging it is to treat as probable.

We live a few miles from several duck clubs (managed wetlands with in-season duck hunting) and it is duck season. Just heard the first shots of the morning at 622a, a little later than expected - normally they start exactly 30 minutes before sunrise :-)

Something for the #hamradio folks. Started with an STM32F446RE Nucleo, built an analog interface board (display unused here) and wrote the code for a very good 1200-baud #packetradio KISS modem. Built back in 2017-18, resurrected, maybe going to do eye diagram on the display #nerdfun

Trump's behavior is perfectly explicable if you think of him as a narcissist who is basically stuck at a child's level of development, who fears powerful people and is a walking bundle of insecurities.
You don't know, no one knows, outside of Putin and Trump, but Trump's behaviour is largely inexplicable for a sane person.

Our precocious 5-yo granddaughter spent a few nights here this week. This is her breakfast today; she doesn't enjoy cooked fish but properly-cured sashimi is perfect any meal. (She didn't want the lemon slice but I insisted for visual appeal)
