The funny thing abt LotR movies is that we’re supposed to believe Sauron is this unstoppable, powerful being when he had been getting his butt kicked for thousands of years.😆

I read this as the suburbs are going to siphon money from the city.
Dallas decided Wednesday to sacrifice some of its power to keep the region’s transit service alive.

The high-stakes move is aimed at stopping a half-dozen suburbs from bolting from the Dallas Area Rapid Transit.

weird how so many democrats from competitive seats feel compelled to vote against the party line (and national interest), but republicans don't. makes you wonder if they are taking bad advice that has little to do with electoral performance, and GOP pols know this

RULE VOTE FAILS, 217-214.

Three Republicans- Thomas Massie, Kevin Kiley, and Don Bacon - buck the party to allow floor consideration of measures to end Trump's tariffs.

The first such measure, likely on Canada tariffs, could come up as soon as tomorrow
Republicans have been holding this vote open for 40 minutes or so, but the holdouts- Massie, Kiley, Bacon, reportedly left the Capitol. The absent Republican is Greg Murphy (R-NC), who has missed a lot of time since a mid December surgery.

Not clear why Johnson is still holding this vote open

Tennis is special. The sport is so unaccessible. Tournaments are expensive to attend. And because they play all over the world, you can’t get a consistent tv deal. So, they have to try everything to keep folks interested.
